Businessman John E. Atkins has fulfilled his campaign pledge to donate his Caddo Commissioner salary to The Community Foundation of North Louisiana.

Atkins donated more than $90,000, equal to a four-year commissioner’s salary, to the Foundation. He has placed the dollars in an advised fund to support the charitable projects in Caddo Parish.

“We are grateful for John’s leadership and heart for this community. We look forward to working with him to address the needs of our community,” said executive director Paula Hickman.
